COMMERCE CITY, Colo.—Santiago Velez scored an overtime goal in the 89th minute to give Niwot a 1-0 win Wednesday night over Rock Canyon for the Class 4A boys soccer title.
Velez’s goal beat diving Jaguars goalkeeper Jacob Lissek, who kept the defending champions in the game with two key second-half saves.
Tyler Strampel had a chance to score for Rock Canyon (12-6-2) in the second half, but goalkeeper Connor Wood pushed it aside for Niwot (18-2-0).
