South Africa’s rugby team was furious after a singer botched the country’s national anthem before a 20-13 loss to France on Friday. Coach Peter de Villiers said the French deserved their win, but was angry with the hosts for the poor singing of the anthem. The singer at times paused and seemed to struggle to remember the words. “We were annoyed with the fact that the French disrespect(ed) our anthem,” De Villiers said. “We expect people to show respect for our anthem.” De Villiers apparently doesn’t realize it could have been worse, but Roseanne Barr was unavailable.
