The Tattered Cover in LoDo will host a football-throwing contest on Tuesday in conjunction with the launch of “Million Dollar Throw,” a new book written by best-selling author and New York Daily News sports columnist Mike Lupica. Children between ages 8 and 15 will be able to compete for a $1,000 prize. Lupica, a contributor every Sunday on ESPN’s “The Sports Reporters,” will present the check to the winner. Free tickets for the chance to throw will be handed out to the first 200 children starting at 5 p.m. The contest begins at 6 p.m. The Denver Post
