Police released the description of a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 19th and Lawrence streets Monday afternoon.
The victim is in stable condition at Denver Health Medical Center. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black man or Latino. He is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and wore a hoodie and jeans, police said.
The victim was with his teenage son. After he was shot, he got back in their van and the son drove toward the hospital.
Police stopped the van at Broadway and 17th Street for driving erratically — blocking traffic for hours — and the father was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
