PALISADE, Colo.—A Palisade police officer is back in uniform after being suspended on suspicion of harassing an ex-girlfriend.
Officer Stephen Tonello was arrested last month after an ex-girlfriend said he repeatedly sent her text messages, called and knocked on her apartment door in the middle of the night.
However, the charges were dismissed earlier this month because of lack of evidence.
A spokesman for the police department says Tonello violated department policy, but has been disciplined. He told The Daily Sentinel newspaper that Tonello is back on the job.
