SGB USA is set to open its first U.S. manufacturing plant at the 44th Industrial Park in Wheat Ridge, the city said Wednesday.
The company, a unit of Regensburg, Germany-based Starkstrom-Geratebau GmbH, will produce transformers that convert electricity generated by wind turbines into energy that can be loaded onto the power grid.
The company will bring an estimated $1.4 million in new capital investment and six new manufacturing jobs to the site. The company will ship the first units to customers in the first quarter of 2010.
