LOVELAND, Colo.—Police say homicides are generally rare in Loveland, but four have been reported this year.

Police Chief Luke Hecker calls them “isolated instances” with different circumstances. He says none were gang-related.

The most recent was the shooting death of a 23-year-old man on Nov. 12. No arrests have been made.

A man was stabbed in April. Another man pleaded guilty to reckless manslaughter and is serving a 12-year prison term.

A woman was shot in early October, and her husband faces a reckless manslaughter charge. He has said the shooting was accidental.

A 63-year-old man was beaten in late October. Another man faces charges of second-degree murder and first-degree assault on an at-risk adult.

About 65,000 people live in Loveland.
