ASPEN, Colo.—Aspen police are still investigating the death of a woman whose body was found near the Pitkin County Library last week but say the death appears to be accidental.

Police said Monday that investigators found a sprinkler head in the same area where a passer-by found the body of 54-year-old Cheryl Lurie on Nov. 16. The sprinkler head is being examined for residue found on it.

County coroner’s officials said last week that Lurie died of a blow to the head, without determining how she was injured.

Police say Lurie was last seen at a bar and restaurant Nov. 15 and was walking toward her home.
