Avalanche captain Adam Foote participated in the morning skate today, but coach Joe Sacco confirmed that the veteran defenseman won’t play tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers at the Pepsi Center. It will be the third consecutive game Foote has missed with a jaw injury.
“He’s starting to feel better, so it’s a day to day thing,” Sacco said. But he won’t be in the lineup tonight.”
Foote stayed on the ice far longer than he usually does at morning skates, indicating he was working on conditioning issues, too. He hadn’t played or practiced since suffering the injury early in the game at Calgary last Tuesday.
