RIVERTON, Wyo.—Riverton has hired a new police chief from Littleton, Colo.
The city says Lt. Charles “Mike” Broadhead of the Littleton Police Department will begin as chief of the Riverton department on Jan. 1.
City Administrator Carter Napier says Broadhead’s communication skills and experience helped him win the job.
Broadhead started his 21-year career in Littleton as a patrol officer. He worked as a sergeant in the detective, traffic and patrol units.
Broadhead has also worked as a SWAT negotiator, neighborhood officer, public information officer and internal affairs investigator.
Broadhead replaces former Chief John Snell, who retired in June after six years on the job.
