Twenty-one more people were formally charged Wednesday in connection with a series of downtown robberies and assaults over the past four months.

The suspects are black and allegedly are gang members who targeted white and Latino men, police said last week.

Nine other suspects charged Tuesday appeared in Denver District Court on Wednesday to be advised of their charges.

They are scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 23, according to Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey. Here are the incidents involving the charges announced Wednesday:

July 18 at 1810 Blake St.: Ian Curwen, 31, and Xavier Francis, 20, are charged with robbery and bias-motivated crime involving an attack and the stealing of an undisclosed amount of money, a credit card and a cellphone.

Aug. 2 at 1401 19th St.: Francis and George Wright, 20, are charged with second-degree assault and two counts of bias-motivated crime. They allegedly threw a man through a glass window.

Aug. 11 at East 13th Avenue and Pearl Street: Blake Patton, 18; Geno West, 18; and Donald Tho mas, 22, are charged with first-degree assault, robbery and bias-motivated crime. The victim was taken to Denver Health Medical Center and was in a coma for some time.

Aug. 16 at 1701 Market St.: Curwen; Francis; Anthony Williams-Jones, 18; Torrence McCall, 26; and Patton are charged with robbery and three counts of bias-motivated crime. They allegedly attacked a man and took his credit card. Williams also is charged with possession of a financial transaction device.

Aug. 23 at 1625 Larimer St.: David Littlejohn, 18; Rasheed Turner, 21; Francis; Charles Penny, 19; Landae Woods- King, 21; Aaron Puller, 21; Patton; Donald Thomas, 22; and Stephon Allison-Smith, 20, are charged with second-degree assault, robbery and bias-motivated crime. The charges allege that the defendants attacked the victim and stole a credit card. Penny also is charged with possession of a financial transaction device. Allison-Smith is charged with intimidating a witness in a separate case.

Aug. 30 at 19th and Blake streets: Deven Cunningham, 20; Denita Mayfield, 23; and Bertrande Uhde, 20, are charged with attempted robbery and bias-motivated crime. The charges allege that the defendants attacked the victim while trying to rob him.

Nov. 18 at 16th and Stout streets: Sherman James, 26, and Merkel Jones, 22, are charged with robbery and third-degree assault.

The defendants are scheduled to appear in court Monday for advisement.

One suspect, Allen Ford, 18, remains at large.

In addition to these charges, six suspects have been charged as juveniles in connection with this series of crimes, the district attorney announced.
