SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Police say a 17-year-old boy has been arrested after he shot his mother in the back with a homemade arrow fired from a makeshift bow.
Police spokesman Sam Clemens said the two got into an argument Tuesday evening.
Clemens said the boy used a fishing pole and a shoelace to make a rudimentary bow, then fashioned an arrow out of a sharpened plastic rod.
He says the mother ended up with a small cut on her back. Police took the boy to a juvenile detention center.
