The New Mexico State volleyball team put an end to Colorado State’s seven-match winning streak and 13-match win streak at home with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-23, 25-20, 26-24) victory at Moby Arena.

Danielle Minch led 23rd-ranked CSU (23-5, 15-1 MWC) with 17 kills.

Five prep stars to represent Colorado.

Four prep boys and one girl from Colorado qualified for the Cross Country Championships National Finals with top-10 finishes at the Midwest Regional, led by Walter Schafer of Cherry Creek High School, who was the runner-up in the boys race.

Schafer ran the 5 kilometers at the Wisconsin-Parkside campus in Kenosha in 15:41, trailing only Lukas Verzbicas of Orland Hills, Ill., who ran a 15:34. Scott Fauble of Wheat Ridge High was fifth, Ryan Poland of Denver Christian was eighth and Danny Nicolls of Regis Jesuit was ninth. Kelsey Lakowske of Boulder High placed fifth in the girls race. The national finals will be in San Diego on Dec. 12.
