BROOKINGS, S.D. — Brian Stafford and Nate Rohnert each scored 13 points to help lead the University of Denver to a road victory over South Dakota State 83-80 on Saturday night.
Stafford was 3-of-6 from beyond the arc and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Rohnert was a perfect 2-of-2 on 3-pointers and 5-of-7 from the field. Rohnert and Chase Hallaman each grabbed six rebounds for the Pioneers (4-1).
Anthony Cordova came off the bench for the Jackrabbits (2-4) and had a game-high 16 points. Clint Sargent was 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and scored 15 points. Nate Wolters contributed 12 points and seven rebounds, and Tony Fiegen added 13 points.
The Pioneers were 9-of-14 on 3-pointers (64 percent), while the Jackrabbits were 5-of-13 (39 percent).
Air Force 68, Charleston Southern 58
AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Grant Parker led all players with 25 points and a career-high 11 rebounds as Air Force defeated Charleston Southern.
Parker’s double-double was the first of his career. Tom Fow added 13 points for the Falcons (3-1).
Jamarco Warren led the Buccaneers (3-2) with 18 points, and Kelvin Martin had 14.
