The Pro Football Hall of Fame reduced their 2010 modern-era candidates list to 25 Saturday. Two former Broncos, running back Terrell Davis and tight end Shannon Sharpe, made the cut.

Both players have reached this far before. The 25 will be trimmed to 15 modern-era finalists before the final vote on Feb. 6, the eve of Super Bowl XLIV in Miami.

The 15 modern-era finalists will join senior candidates Dick LeBeau and former Broncos running Floyd Little on the final ballot.

The 25 semifinalists includes one coach, Don Coryell, and two contributors, former commissioner Paul Tagliabue and owner Art Modell.

Coryell deserves induction; Tagliabue does not, and it’s appalling Modell made it this far when players like Steve Atwater, Karl Mecklenburg and Louis Wright did not.
