All good gravy trains eventually reach the station.
The only trouble for some fantasy football owners is when their train gets there before the rest.
Peyton Manning continued to tick like a Rolex on Sunday with 244 yards and three touchdowns against two interceptions. The bad news, however, is that at 11-0, and with a three-game lead over the rest of the AFC for home-field advantage in the playoffs, Manning could be riding the pine or playing just a quarter for your team come fantasy playoffs.
But don’t let that reality reminder get you down. Manning does get to feast on the Tennessee Titans one more time this week.
The AFC playoff race should translate into big quarterback numbers for Carson Palmer (Bengals), Ben Roethlisberger (Steelers), Joe Flacco (Ravens), Philip Rivers (Chargers) and Kyle Orton (Broncos).
Drew Brees (Saints) owners are fortunate to have Brett Favre and the Vikings one game off the pace in the NFC, which should ensure Brees slings the ball deep into the regular season.
Need an early stocking stuffer? Justin Forsett (Seahawks) is widely available, as is Alex Smith (49ers), Jamaal Charles (Chiefs), Chris Chambers (Chiefs), Larry Johnson (Bengals), Pierre Garcon (Colts) and Felix Jones (Cowboys). All come with risks, but all provide a valuable boost in deeper leagues or teams struggling to replace a waning star.
