Things went smoothly at Denver International Airport on Sunday as travelers flocked home after the Thanksgiving holiday.
“It has been a pretty good day. The longest security wait was about 15 minutes, the weather has been great, and it has been smooth sailing,” said airport spokesman Jeff Green. More than 160,000 people were expected to travel through DIA on Sunday.
“This is going to be our busiest day of the week, but that is right in line with traffic (any day) in July, by far the heaviest month,” Green said.
Colorado’s highways were busy, with the heaviest traffic flow coming from the mountains on Interstate 70 and on Interstate 25, said Colorado Department of Transportation spokeswoman Stacey Stegman.
