BOULDER, Colo.—Former University of Colorado quarterback Bernard Jackson has been released from prison after spending about a year and a half behind bars.
The 24-year-old and a teammate pleaded guilty to breaking into a home in June 2008 with a gun and stealing about $500.
A Boulder County District judge on Tuesday reconsidered Jackson’s sentence of more than five years in prison and ordered him to serve five years of probation instead.
The wife of Denver Bronco Tyler Polumbus, Jackson’s former teammate at CU, told the judge Jackson could live with the couple at their home in suburban Highlands Ranch.
Jackson and Lionel Harris pleaded guilty to burglary and menacing the case. Harris was also sentenced to probation last week after being jailed for a year.
