Boulder police are investigating the death of a male pedestrian who was walking on U.S. 36 at Foothills Parkway Thursday night.

The accident occurred in the westbound lanes of U.S. 36 at about 8:20 p.m. Police said weather was not a factor.

The pedestrian was struck by a sport-utility vehicle. Several occupants, including at least one child, were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

This morning the coroner identifed the man as Transito (Tito) Torees, 22, of Boulder
