RTD directors have selected a panel of six civic leaders to interview finalists for the agency’s general-manager position.

The panelists are former University of Colorado president John Buechner, Jefferson Economic Council president Preston Gibson, Kaiser Permanente Colorado chief Donna Lynne, Lakewood Mayor Bob Murphy, Greenwood Village Mayor Nancy Sharpe and Carla Perez, Gov. Bill Ritter’s senior policy analyst for transportation.

Cal Marsella resigned as the Regional Transportation District’s general manager in July. The agency received more than 200 applications for the position, and about six applicants are still in the running. RTD’s board expects to identify three or four finalists by early next week.

On Thursday, RTD will hold a public forum from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oxford Hotel in downtown Denver to assess the finalists.
