CLEVELAND — A registered sex offender accused of killing 11 women pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to all charges Thursday. Anthony Sowell, 50, entered the plea by video from jail. Geoffrey Mearns, law-school dean at Cleveland State University, said Sowell might have a hard time proving he is insane if prosecutors demonstrate that he buried the bodies to conceal wrongdoing.
