FORT COLLINS — Colorado State University said two house cats in Colorado have tested positive for the swine-flu virus.

The university’s Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory said Friday that the cats were from different households.

Both have been sick for weeks but are expected to recover.

Veterinarians suspect the cats were infected after a person in their homes contracted the virus.

There are three other confirmed cases around the country of swine flu in cats and five in ferrets.
