A man drove his truck into Clear Creek, briefly closing U.S. 6 in Clear Creek County this afternoon.

The man’s Dodge Durango plunged into the river between Colorado Highway 119 and U.S. 40 at about 3:45 p.m., said Colorado State Trooper Ryan Sullivan.

He was rushed to St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver, but the extent and nature of his injuries was not immediately known. He was not believed to be seriously injured. No passengers were in the truck, Sullivan said.

The driver’s name has not been released, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
