Police in Colorado Springs are investigating whether the cold weather caused the deaths of two men found in separate locations this morning.

A resident discovered a man’s body in a large trash can outside a home at 1722 Ivy Place in the Ivywild neighborhood at about 10 a.m.

The man’s name has not been released.

At about 8 a.m., the body of an elderly man was found covered in snow outside a home in the 600 block of East Monument Street, police said.

His name was was being withheld pending notification of family.

Authorities this afternoon told the Colorado Springs Gazette they did not yet know if the deaths were weather-related or might have involved foul play.

Autopsies will determine the cause of death in both cases, police said.
