The director of the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder has been named president of Florida State University.
Eric J. Barron, an alumnus of the university, was selected Tuesday by the school’s board of trustees.
Barron, who has chaired numerous National Science Foundation committees and panels, became NCAR director in July 2008.
