An eagle-eyed librarian, being trained on a CrimeStoppers database, spotted a wanted man in his library and called police who arrested the suspect.
The arrest unfolded at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ruth Holly Branch, 685 N. Murray Blvd., of the Pikes Peak Library in Colorado Springs, according to a police department crime blotter.
The librarian, a new employee, “noticed a patron that looked just like the photograph” on his CrimeStoppers screen, police said.
An officer working security at nearby Murray Square businesses was notified and the library patron was taken into custody without incident.
Police identified the suspect as 47-year-old Tony Blue. Blue was packing a BB-gun and also had a “robbery note” in one of his pockets, police said.
Blue is a suspect in an aggravated robbery case and was wanted for parole violations, police said.
