COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The family of two sisters killed by a gunman at a Colorado Springs church two years ago say they’ve come to terms with the tragedy and that their “dreams are coming back.”
David and Marie Works and their two daughters spoke Wednesday at New Life Church to mark the anniversary of the shootings that took the lives of teenagers Stephanie and Rachel Works. Twenty-four-year-old gunman Matthew Murray killed himself after being shot by a church security guard.
Murray also killed two staff members at Arvada’s Youth With a Mission training center in suburban Denver.
Marie Works told hundreds of people at the prayer service that her family was “not sorrowful today.”
