AMES, Iowa — Craig Brackins tied his season high with 28 points, and Iowa State snapped a three-game losing streak Friday night.

Marquis Gilstrap added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Cyclones (7-3), who posted their fourth straight home victory over the Hawkeyes (3-7) dating to 2003.

The Cyclones opened a 41-27 halftime lead behind 20 points from Brackins, who hit four 3-pointers and finished 9-of-13 from the field, and maintained a comfortable double-digit lead until the final minute.

ALAMOSA — Kim Thissen and Debi Johnson each scored 13 points to lead the Lopers (2-5, 2-1) back from a six-point halftime deficit and hand the Grizzlies (7-2, 2-1) their first RMAC loss.

N.M. Highlands 68, UCCS 59

LAS VEGAS, N.M. — Payden Ackerman scored 17 points for the Mountain Lions (3-5, 0-2 RMAC), but the Cowgirls (4-2, 1-2) took advantage of 28 UCCS turnovers for the win.
