Welcome new carillonneur Carol Lens as she performs at the University of Denver’s 11th annual holiday carillon concert. A carillon is similar to an organ but uses bells instead of pipes. DU’s Williams Carillon contains 65 bronze bells, the largest of which weighs 6 tons. The free one-hour concert begins at 3 p.m. The listening area is between the Williams Tower and Stapleton Tennis Pavilion. There is free parking in Lot 103 at Buchtel Boulevard and High Street, and Lot 108 at South Josephine Avenue and Buchtel Blvd.
Singer-songwriter Laura Goldhamer and the Silvernail open Swallow Hill’s annual Member Holiday Party, also featuring Elephant Revival. The annual bash offers music and dancing. Party begins at 7 p.m., free for members, $15 for nonmembers, 71 E. Yale Ave., 303-777-1003,

If you have six-pack abs and a sexy “ho ho ho,” Central City is holding a contest for Hunky-Claus. Grab your Santa hat and red pants and head to the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver. The winner will stroll the streets of Central City and be available for photos the night of Dec. 19. Hunky- Claus also wins free lodging and dinner for two that night.
