BOULDER, Colo.—About 35 people in the Lyons and Allenspark areas have told Boulder County sheriff’s officials that mail has been stolen from their mailboxes, opened and then discarded.
The thefts happened starting Monday.
Sheriff’s officials said Wednesday that the culprit or culprits were probably looking for credit cards or gift cards.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service was notified.
