Getting your player ready...

Some of you were soaked in champagne Sunday after wrapping up a fantasy title. OK, so maybe it was more like calling your buddy to taunt him and pumping your fist in the air while your family — although relieved your season is finally over — watched in silent embarrassment.

Chris Johnson (Titans) and Drew Brees (Saints) owners, please step away from the ledge. Yes, we know, if only the championship had been last week.

Some of you will be sweating out tonight’s game to secure your title or miraculous comeback. Then there’s the leagues that go until Week 16 (and please don’t say you’re playing in a league that goes until Week 17, because that’s as smart as fantasy bass fishing), which makes this the final week to load up the most explosive lineup you have.

Feeling desperate? So are the Steelers, Packers, Ravens, Cardinals, Titans, Broncos, Jaguars, every team in the NFC East and the spotless Colts. As these teams showed, they are pushing for a playoff spot with all guns blazing — a fantasy owner’s dream.

In Detroit, change was promised after a blowout loss to Baltimore. Of course, “change” for the Lions amounts to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, but Maurice Morris rushed for more than 100 yards against a stout Cardinals defense, scored his first touchdown since Sept. 27 and got more than 14 carries for the first time all season.

Morris, who had some solid fantasy value when his number was called as a Seahawk, is just one of several intriguing players to consider after next week when some owners contemplate cheap players to hold over for next season.
