Aurora Fire Department officials say a toddler had to be pulled from an icy pond Sunday night, and investigators are trying to figure out how the toddler ended up there in the first place.
The Aurora Police Department didn’t release the exact age or sex of the toddler, but they did say the victim fell through some ice behind the River Falls Apartment Complex on South Sable Boulevard in Aurora, near East Alameda.
Fortunately, a 10-year-old girl was able to rescue the child.
At last check, the toddler was in stable condition at The Children’s Hospital.
Authorities are investigating and say criminal charges are possible.
