As many as 20 vehicles crashed this afternoon in chain reaction accidents on northbound Interstate-25 at Surrey Ridge in Douglas County, authorities say.
Although no serious injuries have been reported so far, state troopers were still checking the conditions of people involved in the accidents that happened around 12:30 p.m., said Trooper Ryan Sullivan of the Colorado State Patrol.
“This is not one big crash,” Sullivan said.
It’s a combination of crashes on a wet highway in the same general area, he said. One could have triggered all the others, he added.
So far no one has reportedly been taken to a hospital, Sullivan said.
The highway is currently closed while troopers work quickly to get information from people involved in the accident, he said.
