Getting your player ready...

Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups will not play Tuesday against the Warriors due to a strained left groin.

But Billups said he is improving and with a good practice session on Wednesday and Thursday, it’s possible he’ll play in the big matchup against Cleveland on Friday.

Also forward Carmelo Anthony, who missed weekend games with a right knee contusion, is listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game. He did some light work on the court Monday and is considered day-to-day.

Reserve center Chris Andersen is out for a week, coach George Karl said, after “Birdman” sustained a left ankle sprain in Sunday’s home loss to the 76ers. Andersen came in for treatment Monday and is wearing a boot on his left foot.

Reserve guard Anthony Carter is probable for Tuesday’s game. He has been playing with left Achilles tendonitis.
