Colorado GOP chair Dick Wadhams is getting married over Memorial Day weekend or, as it is known in political circles, the “weekend after the state Republican convention.”
Wadhams popped the question to fellow Republican Wendy Evans on Christmas Eve while they were visiting her family in North Carolina. The couple has dated for several years.
“We are very excited,” she said.
Evans, 51, worked as the regional deputy director for the U.S. Department of Education under President George W. Bush. She had also worked for former U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard. Wadhams, 54, ran both of Allard’s Senate campaigns.
It will be Evans’ first wedding and Wadhams’ second.
