The Asheville Tourists are being sold to the DeWine family of Ohio but will remain the Rockies’ Single-A affiliate in the South Atlantic League and will continue to play at McCormick Field in Asheville, N.C., the new owners announced Tuesday.

Palace Sports & Entertainment of Michigan, owner of the NBA’s Detroit Pistons, is selling the Tourists to DeWine Seeds Silver Dollar Baseball, LLC. Brian De- Wine, 30, the son of Mike DeWine, a former U.S. senator from Ohio, will become president of the Tourists when the sale is completed in March.

Tony Jones, a 5-foot-8, 178-pound running back from Ramsey, N.J., has committed to sign with Colorado, the Internet recruiting site reported Tuesday.

Jones, rated a three-star prospect, rushed for 1,300 yards and 36 touchdowns last fall as a senior for Don Bosco Prep.
