EAGLE, Colo.—Eagle voters have rejected a mammoth new development that would have brought retail, condos and a new hotel.

In a municipal vote Tuesday, voters rejected the proposed Eagle River Station, 1,175 to 1,019.

The Eagle town council approved the development in November, but it required voter approval.

The development would have brought 552,000 square feet of commercial space with a Target store, hotel and 581 condos.
