Firestone private investigator Bob Brancato today said he will run against incumbent Democrat Jared Polis in the 2nd Congressional District.
Republican Brancato officially announced his campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives at a pub in Firestone Tuesday night.
“The constituents of District 2 are no longer being heard,” Brancato said.
Brancato, 41, said he will focus on issues like smaller government, health care reform, taxes and victims assistance.
“Coloradans must be heard. The Congressional majority is selling our children’s liberty for instant gratification,” Brancato said in a statement posted to on his website. “Jared Polis (D) has only supported jobs for ‘fun’ industries-reflective of his $324 million net worth.”
The five-year Colorado resident owns Brancrato Domani Industries, LLC with his wife Rochelle, he said. They have lived in Firestone for a year and a half.
