BOULDER, Colo.—The FBI says it doesn’t expect anyone to be prosecuted for hacking into the Web sites of two Jewish synagogues in the Boulder area.

Anti-Semitic messages briefly appeared on the sites of the Bonai Shalom and Har HaShem congregations this month. The FBI says the Web sites were among several in the Boulder area that were hacked in the past week. No one has reported any losses from the hacking.

The FBI said Friday that the attacks on the synagogues’ Web sites originated from abroad.

The FBI says that while the hackers’ messages were disturbing, the perpetrators were not believed to pose a physical threat to the community.
