The four-time Tony award-winning actress and dancer originated the role of “Lola” in the 1955 Broadway musical “Damn Yankees” before marrying the show’s choreographer, Bob Fosse. She would be 85 today if she were still around, and we’d serve her a Broadway Martini.
Broadway Martini
Serves 1.
Ingredients
2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce crème de menthe (preferably white crème de menthe)
Directions
Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add gin and crème de menthe. Stir for 30 seconds. Strain into martini glass. Garnish with a mint sprig if desired.
