FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Anheuser-Busch InBev SA is appealing the valuation of its brewery in Fort Collins in a bid to potentially lower its property taxes by about $1 million.
The Larimer County Assessor’s Office last year appraised the value of the land and buildings at the brewery at nearly $91.8 million. County officials say the company maintains the property’s value is closer to $50 million, now that market values have fallen.
If the Colorado Board of Assessment Appeals supports the company’s valuation, the brewery’s $2 million annual real estate property tax bill would be cut nearly in half. The board has yet to schedule a hearing on the matter.
