BOULDER, Colo.—Loud, disruptive customers at the Boulder Public Library are prompting a police review of security measures.

The review comes as police say complaints have escalated about some of the patrons’ behavior. Two months ago, a transient 18-year-old man was stabbed outside the building, and library employees say some customers yell at them.

Library spokesman Jennifer Bray says there have also been reports of fights inside. Bray says the library employs one private security guard but the position is not staffed all day.

Boulder police and library officials will be meeting to discuss how to address concerns, including whether to provide additional police patrols at the library.
