A 4.1-magnitude earthquake rattled northeastern New Mexico near the Colorado border Monday.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the temblor hit at 1:41 a.m. Monday and was centered in a sparsely populated area about 170 miles northeast of Albuquerque.
USGS geophysicist Amy Vaughan says the quake was felt in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado but wasn’t strong enough to cause significant damage.
