DENVER—Democrat Andrew Romanoff says he’s going ahead with plans to challenge Sen. Michael Bennet for the party nomination this summer.
Romanoff called reporters to his campaign headquarters Tuesday. Some speculated that Romanoff would drop out of the race, possibly to run for governor. Romanoff told reporters he briefly considered seeking the governor’s office, but decided to stay in the Senate primary.
Romanoff is a Denver lawyer and former speaker of the state House who retired last year due to term limits.
