A Denver resident was found guilty today in the 2008 murder of his landlord, Henry Blair, 61, who was stabbed and run over.

After two weeks of trial and a day and a half of deliberation, a Douglas County jury convicted Warren Worthington, 47, of first degree murder. The sentence carries a mandatory life sentence with no possibility of parole, according to a Douglas County District Attorney’s office.

Blair’s two sons and widow were present for the announcement.

Cell phone records, DNA and dog tracking evidence were presented as evidence during the trial, the district attorney’s office said.

On Jan. 6, 2008, a passerby found Blair in a dirt lot off I-25 and Happy Canyon Road.

In 2008 the Douglas County Sheriff’s office determined Blair was killed in a business transaction, “specifically a landlord-tenant relationship with the victim being the landlord.”

Worthington owned and operated an automotive detail and paint business, but was evicted from the Denver location December 2008 because of unpaid rent.

Blair, who ran a real estate business from his home in Castle Pines North, acted as an agent in Worthington’s lease at his new Denver shop location.

Sentencing for Worthington is on March 30.
