EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Vikings receiver Percy Harvin, the reigning NFL offensive rookie of the year, is questionable for Sunday’s NFC championship game in New Orleans.
Harvin missed his second consecutive practice Friday because of migraine headaches, a problem he’s had most of his life. The migraines sidelined him for one game this season.
Coach Brad Childress called the situation “less than ideal” and said Harvin’s ability to fly with the team today to New Orleans could be affected. Childress also noted Harvin has played before under the same conditions.
Better news for the Vikings was the return to practice of starting defensive linemen Ray Edwards and Kevin Williams. They’re each listed as questionable with knee injuries that kept them out of practice the previous two days.
Shockey, Jenkins ailing
METAIRIE, La. — Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey (knee) and cornerback Malcolm Jenkins (hamstring) missed practice because of injuries. Both are questionable for Sunday’s game.
Powers questionable for Colts
INDIANAPOLIS — Colts cornerback Jerraud Powers missed his third consecutive practice because of a foot injury and is questionable for Sunday’s AFC championship game against the Jets. If Powers cannot play, coach Jim Caldwell has said Jacob Lacey would start in his place.
Jets ready for takeoff
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis (hand) and linebackers David Harris (ankle) and Bart Scott (ankle) are probable for Sunday’s game at Indianapolis despite being limited at practice.
“At this point, a lot of players play with a lot of injuries,” Ellis said. “You just go out there and just play.”
