AURORA — One of three men shot late Thursday in a parking lot has died.

The victim was identified Friday by the Adams County coroner and the Aurora Police Department as 28-year-old Aubrey Arshaad Johnson.

An autopsy on Johnson is scheduled today. Aurora police said he was shot at least once in the upper body.

Detective Robert Friel, Aurora police spokesman, said that shortly before 11 p.m., several callers reported multiple shots fired in the lot between T&R Liquors and Bar El Atoron, near Dayton Street and East Montview Boulevard.

The male victim was found a few blocks away near East 22nd Avenue and Emporia Street. A car carrying two other men with gunshot wounds was tracked to the parking lot of Children’s Hospital and stopped there by officers.

Police said Friday that one of those men is still hospitalized with injuries that are non-life-threatening. The other man has been released.

Friel said police are searching for a shooting suspect driving a tan Mercury Grand Marquis. He said there is the possibility of a second suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Matt Fyles at 303-739-6067. The Denver Post
