COLORADO CONNECTION
Matt Bouldin, Gonzaga, senior guard.
The 6-foot-5, 224-pound former ThunderRidge star is saving his best for last, leading the Bulldogs with 16.5 points and 4.3 assists per game.
A four-year starter, Bouldin was named this month as one of 20 finalists for the 2010 Bob Cousy Award. The award, sponsored by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, is given to college basketball’s top point guard.

ON THE BUBBLE
Northwestern: Going for first bid.
The only team in the “Big Six” conferences never to have played in the NCAA Tournament, the Wildcats (14-6 entering the weekend) have a chance this year. Northwestern holds wins over Notre Dame, Stanford, Purdue and Illinois, but the Wildcats were just 3-5 in the Big Ten entering the weekend and began the week at No. 56 in RPI.
ON THE RISE
Scottie Reynolds, Villanova, senior guard:
One of Villanova’s smallest players is the biggest reason the third-ranked Wildcats (19-1, 8-0 Big East) are challenging to reach No. 1 in the polls for the first time in school history. Reynolds is averaging 20.9 points in league games (18.7 overall) and has failed to shoot better than 50 percent from the field just twice in his past 12 games.
