UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN COLORADO MONFORT COLLEGE OF BUSINESS: Assistant professor Michael Martin has been named the Bill Daniels Distinguished Professor of Business Ethics. His appointment follows the announcement that the college has received a $1.25 million grant from the Daniels Fund to be used to increase ethics instruction and related ethics programs.
FACULTY OF FEDERAL ADVOCATES: Named Greg Goldberg, a partner at Holland & Hart LLP, as its president for 2010. Goldberg replaces Reid Neureiter, a partner at Jacobs Chase Frick Kleinkopf & Kelley. John Walsh, a partner at Hill & Robbins, is president-elect.
THE COLORADO LIMITED GAMING CONTROL COMMISSION: Philip Baca, chief of police for Commerce City, has been appointed by Gov. Bill Ritter to serve as the commission’s law enforcement member.

AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF AERONAUTICS AND ASTRONAUTICS: Recently honored five University of Colorado at Boulder faculty members and students. Professor Daniel Baker was honored with the James A. Van Allen Space Environments Award for excellence and leadership in space research. The 2010 Losey Atmospheric Sciences Award was presented to professor Jeffrey Forbes. Graduate students Jason Roadman and David Wiese received the AIAA Foundation Orville and Wilbur Wright Graduate Awards. In addition, the 2009 Willy Z. Sadeh Graduate Student Award in Space Engineering and Space Sciences was presented to doctoral student Carl Seubert.
