A second Denver man was charged today in the shooting death and robbery of a Vietnam veteran last month in a incident police said initially involved a marijuana deal.

Isaiah Shaffer, 28, is accused of being the second man in the Jan. 5 shooting inside the home of 59-year-old Douglass Singleton in the 2600 block of Leyden Street.

Singleton was killed and Shaffer’s co-defendant, 25-year-old Peter Bellar, was wounded by the gunfire.

Both face murder and robbery charges, according to the Denver district attorney’s office.
